The author is a senior academician with over five decades of research and teaching in population-based public health at three top-ranking universities in USA. He has served as a consultant for leading multinational organizations (e.g. UN, WHO, Kellogg Foundation, Fulbright commission) in more than twenty five countries. He is currently a Fulbright-Nehru Distinguished Chair in Global Health and his research focuses on empowerment of women for promoting global health and quality of life.
