The Third Terton

An eighth-century Buddhist prophecy lives on in the mountains of Sikkim: the third Terton will appear one day to reveal Beyul Demazong, a paradise upon the Khangchendzonga.
After a sudden ambush by the enemy in the middle of the 1962 Sino-Indian conflict, Palden—an Indian soldier—is shaken out of an unusual state between life and death by a tantric master, who seems to be on a journey of his own. Palden realises that he has lost his way amongst the tricky mountainous terrain, and the master is his only way out. Desperate to reunite with his men, Palden decides to follow him.
Hiding in turmoil is Gyalmo-the only surviving descendant of a lineage of Rinpoches. Coerced to reclaim the usurped seat of her ancestors and surviving assassin monks, she appears a distraught soul. Anjiri, the heir to the Hong, is upon the same trail, determined to fulfil the oath of the Yakthumbas.
Their journeys intertwine in a spiritual time-warp, winding across snowclad valleys and stormy passes, and involving near-death moments in the hands of infamous Tibetan bandits.
Will they finally attain their objectives? And what happens to the Buddhist prophecy?
