When Kaveri’s husband dies, her life is turned rudely off course.. Rudderless, she retreats to her son’s home in the United States. Here, she begins to think about her past, and consider the choices that have shaped her journey–and the choices that will remake it.
Her daughter Aparna is reckoning with changes too: the loss of her father brings pressure to her relationship with her boyfriend, whose existence she has not yet shared with her parents. Things at her workplace aren’t going well either. A new research project brings to the fore some uncomfortable memories, and Aparna may have to deal with things she’d rather forget, put the past to bed in order to find peace in the present.
And her mother, Parvati, reflects on the trajectory of her own life, spanning continents, settling on the memory of a snowy winter evening, and a friendship that changed her life and perhaps, her daughter’s too.
